Neutral and Neon

19 Jul

One of my favorite combinations so far this Summer is neutral and neon. I love the way that the two play off of each other and create a fresh and unexpected look while still being classy and elegant. By pairing a simple shift with a bright pop of color in accessories, you can make an easy outfit with a lot of visual interest. Being that I do the marketing and PR for a jewelry store, I get to play around a lot with accessories. Some of my favorite pieces are our neon necklaces and bracelets because they are just so easy to throw on over a light and airy dress or blouse. I love the way that neon transitions from day to night so easily and allows you to effortlessly go from your desk to dinner and drinks. If you love this trend but want to tone it down a little, neon nails are also a great option. Essie has tons of options that would be perfect to embrace this trend! Do you love neon as much as I do?

Navy and Coral

9 Jul

So lately I have been having a mini love affair with navy and coral, and it seems like my pinterest has been blowing up with all things noral (Nori for short, oh wait that name’s already taken). I just love the way that classic navy looks with bright and cheery coral. It feels like an adult update on everyone’s former (current) favorite pink and navy right? Whether it’s outfits, accessories, or houses, I just can’t get enough. Do you love this combo as much as I do?

Statement Necklaces

26 Jun
It’s no secret that I have a slight statement necklace addiction (and working for a jewelry company certainly has not helped this). I just think that they are the perfect finishing touch to any outfit without screaming that you tried way too hard. I also work in an office of all guys except for one other intern so let’s be real, no one cares what I’m wearing but the occasional necklace compliment is always a gem.  I love finding little online boutiques for a lot of my jewelry because literally every single store has the same inventory (including Bauble Bar) so why not shop around? I recommend it! I picked out a few of my favorite necklaces at the moment that are fairly affordable as well as being super cute and easy to wear. Do you love statement necklaces as much as me?

Summer Work Wardrobe

25 Jun

So after a whopping three blog posts, I took a little detour down the road of uninspired and wound up not posting for a while. At this point in the game, I don’t intend for this blog to be an everyday kind of thing because let’s be real, I’m kind of busy and my life is also kind of boring. Anywho, back to the regularly (unscheduled) blogging game it is.

Currently in the lovely state of Massachusetts it is about 450000 degrees during the day and about ten degrees cooler at night. (This proves especially entertaining when you live in an apartment with no air conditioning.) Being a Floridian by birth, I was not aware that people didn’t have central air until I came to college and just about died in my freshman year dorm (I know, I lived in a bubble). That being said,  I have been seriously struggling with picking out work clothes lately that fit both the hot temperature outside, and the arctic tundra that is the inside of my office. Because I walk almost a mile to and from work, I have to be comfortable and heels are just not an option. My job doesn’t really have a dress code but I still like to not look like a streetwalker when I roll into work (such a good employee I know). I find myself wearing a lot of black and white during the week and using a pop of color in jewelry, but I am getting a little bored with this classic yet monotonous pairing. So I’d love all of your advice. What do you wear to work in the Summer? Do you find yourself stuck in a color(less) rut?

Minty Fresh.

12 Jun

Even though I haven’t been shopping since this whole rent thing is really draining my wallet, I have been loving all things mint this summer. I think that it looks perfect paired with preppy blue and white stripes as well as chic black. It’s a great pop of color in any outfit without being too in your face and I think that everyone can definitely pull it off. Without being super cliche and annoying, I feel like mint is a great breath of fresh air when paired with any outfit (punny, I know). Whether you like mint in small or large doses, there is definitely something for everyone. Are you loving mint as much as I am?

Essie Summer Collection

10 Jun

If you have seen my nail polish collection, it is pretty clear that I am an addict I have every different brand, color, and finish but Essie is definitely one of my favorites. I love to stay on top of their new releases for collections and slowly buy and try every color. I especially am in LOVE with their Summer 2013 collection. So far I have Naughty Nautical, Full Steam Ahead, and Sunday Funday, and I am obsessed with all of them. They all have a subtle sparkle that is great for those super sunny Summer days. I think that my favorite so far is Naughty Nautical though (currently rocking it on my nails). Do you have a fave from this collection?

Welcome!

8 Jun

Hi friends!

I just wanted to take a minute to write an introduction post for my brand new bloggy! If you read my last blog, you might know a little bit about me, but for the newbies I wanted to share a little somethin’ somethin’. I am a 21 year old, sass-loving, college student originally from Florida, but currently living in Boston. I nanny three munchkins, work at a start-up, and help out with a super awesome jewelry company. While I may love me some Lilly, Vineyard Vines, and J. Crew, I am most certainly not your average prepster. If we’re being real, I am much more likely to be found browsing the aisles at Target buying completely useless, but obviously necessary things. I am also a huge reality TV junkie, namely anything that starts with the words Bachelor or Real Housewives and I hoard nail polish like nobody’s business. I love cooking, baking, and grocery shopping, and could probably spend three hours wandering the aisles of Trader Joe’s or Publix on any given day. Now that I have shared all of this random information with you, I just wanted to say thanks for reading my blog and starting on this new adventure with me. I can’t wait to get back to blogging and to share just a little bit of my kind of crazy life with you!
